How to find repeated words
- Paste your notes or open a UTF-8 .txt file. PDFs and Word documents must be converted to plain text first.
- Choose the language used in your text. Optionally remove common words or include numbers, then count.
- Compare counts and percentages. Download the list, then review the source passage before making flashcards.

How are words counted?
Letter sequences count as words, ignoring case. Accents are preserved: si and sí differ. An internal apostrophe stays in a word, so don’t is one word. Hyphens split words. Digits are excluded by default; when enabled, consecutive digits form separate number tokens.
What does the percentage mean?
Count divided by counted words, multiplied by 100. With the common-word filter on, excluded words are removed from the denominator. Displayed percentages are rounded to two decimals.
Which common words are excluded?
A small built-in English or Spanish list of articles, pronouns and connecting words is used. It is not a linguistic model; turn it off to count every word. The selected text language controls this list.
Can this create flashcards automatically?
This page counts words and exports lists. It does not transfer your text to another tool. Download the list and use the flashcard maker separately with your source material. Frequent words are not necessarily the most important concepts.
What are the limits?
Up to 1,000,000 characters. UTF-8 .txt files up to 4 MB are accepted if they fit that character limit. Invalid UTF-8 and binary files are rejected. Only the first 500 rows are displayed; exports contain all results.
